About Us

For the last ten years Haymakers Lacrosse has enjoyed steady success in the both adhering to and in the execution of the program’s mission; preparing elite area high school players for college lacrosse.  Haymakers has only worked with high school aged players during that span.   However, at the very end of this past decade, we recognized a need for better instruction at an earlier age in the central Ohio lacrosse community.  In order to catch up to our east coast counterparts, and more effectively compete for college roster spots; our players fundamental skill and knowledge base simply must be increased at a younger age.

Thankfully, the NCAA has further facilitated our making up ground.  NCAA regulations now prohibit scholarship institutions from initiating contact with potential recruiting targets prior to September 1st of a prospect’s Junior year in high school.  As such, the emphasis has shifted from exposure onto development.  There’s simply NO need for middle school aged players to attend exorbitantly overpriced recruiting events.

However, we do recognize the importance of continuing to compete against top competition from a developmental standpoint.  For the middle school age group, the challenge has become seeking out events which field top-level competition while not saddling players’ families with expensive event prices tags.

The answer is The Hustle!

The Hustle is indeed a pathway into Haymakers Lacrosse, but The Hustle isn’t Haymakers.  To be clear, The Hustle neither adds to nor is a part of the commitment made by Haymakers’ high school players.  We offer their proven systems, instruction, and quality control reinforced by play against high level regional and national competition but at a younger age.   The Hustle also incorporates player accountability, but in a (slightly) less intensive environment.  The Hustle also comes with a more more appropriate price tag.  Quite simply...it’s a “no brainer!”
